Dario Argento's Tenebrae - Movie Poster By Ben Turner
Among Dario Argento's wide and varied catalogue of films, Tenebrae stands out for its cinematography, and is visual stylish and imaginative.
After Argento’s experiments with supernatural horror in 1977's Suspiria and 1980's Inferno, Tenebrae was a return to the giallo subgenre, which he helped popularise in the 1970s.
The film itself is inspired by a series of incidents which saw an obsessed fan telephone the director to criticise him for the damaging psychological effects of his previous work, which culminated in death threats towards Argento. The director also wanted to explore the senselessness of killings he had seen and heard about while staying in Los Angeles in 1980, and his feeling at the time that true horror came from those who wanted "to kill for nothing".
Ben Turner's new 24x36 inch poster for the film, captures the stylistic nature of the movie, through framing and architecture. This is our first release with Ben and we can't wait to work with him again.
We will shortly also be releasing Tenebrae on VHS from Vice Press Home video, along with more posters - stay tuned for those!
This release is available from Vice-Press.com on Thursday the 24th of July.
Don't forget, we also produce our own premium poster frames through The Poster Frame Co, with both prints available ready to display! You can see our range of frames HERE!
