If like us, you are of a certain age, you will best know The Phantom from the 1980's animated series, Defenders Of The Earth, where he fought the villainous Ming The Merciless alongside Flash Gordon, Mandrake the Magician and more. The Ghost Who Walks first appearance though dates back to comic strips in the 1930's, the golden era of pulp crime fighting comics. Over the years The Phantom has featured in comics, films and is still published today. With a huge global following, his recognisable symbol, the Skull Ring, The Phantom remains  one of histories most iconic heroes. 

Henrik Sahlstrom is no stranger to The Phantom, having illustrated many comic covers for the character over the years. His two pieces here capture The Phantom with his companion Devil, both in his Skull Cave and on the cliffs of Bangalla.
